What is OVX?
In August 2000, Vermont received $1.5 million from the American Legacy Foundation, to be distributed over three years to support a statewide high school-aged youth movement against tobacco. As one result, OVX was developed as an important part of the movement.
OVX stands for Our Voices Xposed. OVX is a youth-led, youth-run movement that is focused on exposing the truth about tobacco.

OVX Goals
- Educate and inform.
- Empower and show our peers how to express our views.
- Take action against the exploitation by the tobacco industry.
- Encourage positive behavior in all aspects of life.
- Help reduce tobacco use among our peers.

OVX has three main components:
- Local youth groups and members statewide who are the backbone of the organization.
- Statewide programs and activities, to get the word out.
- A statewide media campaign that is linked to other statewide efforts.
